What a week. End. What a weekend XD This weekend has been like the greatest for me in a long time i'm really really so so happy. :D Event #1 Piano on Saturday! Ms Tey my piano teacher was chit chatting with the mother of the student before me when the mother saw me and asked which grade I was in. Then before I could answer, Ms Tey answered for me, "She'd already completed grade eight." "Wow, that's really good!" the mother was looking me up and down, as if remarking how young (or small sized) I looked to be grade eight. Too young, maybe? "Yeah," Ms Tey remarked casually as she ushered her student and her mom from the room, "She plays well." I sat on the piano bench about to burst with joy. Really. Just there and then I felt like imploding! It's been almost nine years, and it's the first time I hear something like that XD. What a comment from my perfectionist teacher :D Then we sat and we began to play duets XD. We played Rondo Alla Turca by Mozart, and Serenade by Schubert. I had great fun :D Then in the middle of Serenade, Ms Tey suddenly got up and digged through her piano scores, and pulled out a piece that her own teacher wrote. It's apparently made of 10+ parts, and all to be played at once XD Haha. Not counting the double hands that pianists use XD Then we got to work on the score (which was counted as 1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2 although it was eight beats a bar. Terrifying) and gave me some time to read and painstakingly I got through one and a half pages when she came back and played everything I just sight-read in one sitting. And I asked her if she'd played it before, and she said "No la! Of course not" ;-; And then we played that duet piece together, and I got lost halfway and then we couldnt continue and she laughed. We had great fun, really :D Event #2 I found a mistake in the Longman Math O-Level practice book answers. LOL! Event #3 Church was amazing. Got to go for first and third service! :D Rivers and floods; and Life Sentence respectively XD The preacher was good man, and ever since his 'Bible Study' that he gave in like ten minutes on a case study, I now know how to read the bible properly XD. Haha. be a river and not a flood, eh. :D Then HuiYi, Rachel Tan and I went out xD We had to buy HuiYi a dress lol! We were totally crapping XD Marshmallows LOL! :D Okay I wanna go play Bloons Tower Defense now OH Event #4 I played till Round 115/50 (yes out of fifty) for BTD 4 :D I played till the browser lagged and I continued and then it got so bad that it closed itself. (What kind of english is this XD) Proposal due today, but GComm hasn't met up, I'm so sick I can barely talk, and I definitely cannot hand in the documents due today. Such a letdown. I promised the Press & VPress (of EXCO, definitely not those from TJ) that lateness won't happen. And the very few days later, this happens D: Haiz. My stomach flips and freezes every time this thought runs through my mind ): Although I do know that mom wouldn't let me go to school cause of the cough, but it's something (once again) that I feel really, really accountable for. I hate this kind of feeling! Hate. OKAY that aside Holidays have been really retarded (Let's get retarded, ha!) Doing nothing but browsing the web, worrying over proposal stuff, reading some books, playing piano abit. Wee. For TASCIP, There's a new dance called Retarded! (It's a song by Black Eyed Peas, youtube it, kinda cool.) Much much harder than any other mass dance we've learnt so far, eh! After learning it, S.Club, Speedy are way too easy O: Even The Sign is chicken feet (pun not intended) It's so hard and the other songs are so easy, it's amusing! On Monday the EXCO stayed back to perfect the dance, and when we did we were jumping around in circles screaming our heads off (yeah that's why the cough came about XD) And speaking of EXCO, Our dearest secretary, Sabrina Quek, decided to be a Blind Old Lady, squeezed her eyes shut for half an hour, sat herself down on the teacher's roller chair, and zipped around class waving a stick about. It was so retarded it made my throat rip from laughing XD. We kept disturbing her with items like 1. Broom 2. Prop used to demonstrate perming of hair (fyi, has real hair stuck on it) 3. Floorball stick 4. Styrofoam props 5. Umbrella 6. Chio Bu (the 1C class mascot, a purple long-legged floppy frog) 7. Broom 8. A short section of a bamboo pole Nicholas picked up long time ago someplace (the "stick" mentioned aforehand) 9. Spectacles (Sabrina's) 10. Chairs 11.  Fish For People It had been a long time since irresponsibility made me feel this bad. Not saying that irresponsibility never makes me feel bad. But I've never felt so accountable for a mistake. I wanna write again. Words keep flowing although my brain's kinda. Retired. Really. Every time something (here when it's "something", I mean anything) happens, instinctively and immediately, I'll think of a whole paragraph and how to phrase it nicely. Like when this man spit to his right - where I was walking - and made me jump :/ I thought of a few sentences on how to describe it :/ I'm crazy XD "He walked stiffly, arms by his side, oblivious even to the shuffling of my slippers over the concrete floor. Then as I side-stepped to overtake him, an omnious growl rumbled from his throat; which could only mean one thing. One thing bad. With a swift turn of his neck, a glob of milky phlegm soared out his dry lips and landed, with a splat, right in front of me. It was the exact spot where my foot would next go if I hadn't slowed to lower the volume of my iPod. It was a planned sabotage, I swear! Well, alright. It wasn't a planned sabotage (or sabotage, for that matter). But it made me jump and realise how dangerous walking closely behind an old man might be." Proposals need to be re-worked O: And guess what, all my comm members keep auditioning for other things! (It's like they're desperate to get out of GComm, LOL!) Vikhash auditioned for MC and Video Actor. Charmaine auditioned for MC and Video Actor. SiHui auditioned for MC. Brenda auditioned for MC and Video Actor. Only Melina didn't audition for anything, and she's the one who keeps nagging me about proposals and everything XD. HAHA. So sad right! No la, I still love my Comm members no matter what XD Awh. Class Chalet, MondayTuesdayWednesday! =D So looking forward 8D Going to bring Speedmouse to watch there XD. Google/Youtube it, it's super funny XD. I bet we're all going to put on 5kg of fats there lol, surely gunna eat alot of junk food D: (Maybe I shall wake up at 5am and go swimming before everyone wakes up. Lol.) (Or just go jogging ._.) I've been up to my neck in storybooks! And enjoying myself tremendously XD. Read: The Rules of Survival by Nancy Werlin, and How to Steal a Car by Pete Hautman XD They're all super nice books (except for How to Steal a Car, which kinda has some sick stuff here and there - but only a little, don't get me wrong XD). Both very engaging D: The Rules of Survival is a must-read! O: ... -needs suggestion of a storybook to read- -forgot the book which yanyou reccomended long time ago- -star-something?- Weeeeeeeeeeeee. I miss cell. But I find that, reading a Psalm a day helps XD I'm at Psalm 8 now :D Really, Psalms is full of sighing and groaning (in poems), but it always mentions how He pulled the author through in the end =D It's a Self-Help book in itself! Seriously, the bible has everything XD. Oh oh! Luke 15:10 says "In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." And after Sunday's Youth Service last week, I realized why God and his angels can rejoice even if God knew when a person was going to be saved! Imagine a green bean, in a little cup of its own, sitting on some soil. Then when it is watered, it grows in it's skin, until it puts out a root, and finally a shoot! And of course, the gardener (or rather the greenbean-er) would be happy if he saw it grow! (Wouldn't you, if you planted a green bean and saw it grow? I would XD) So it's like knowing that a green bean will grow in two to three days, yet being happy and getting all excited when it finally sprouts XD. Not saying that God knows we will convert "in two or three days", but it's just an analogy. Just a random thought running through a random mind XD. Yay I'm happy happy happy. Although I'm tired O: And headaches much |: does a Bad Headache and Twitching Eye account to anything? :/ I hope not XD Ah. Haven't seen the cell peeps - the complete cell peeps - for two weeks :/ Miss them all! what a week! Golly, this is the longest week EVER! O: Life's been so busy that every day when I come home, it's already after 7pm O: Then a quick shower, a quick dinner, and it's off to bed I go :X Well, now there's finally a snippet of time, so here comes a blog post =D I'm trying to force this shutting-down brain of mine to fuction, so it's going to be a weird post ._. So! Every day for the past week has been mass dance sessions with the SC. Refreshed S-Club and Speedy! :D And learnt The Sign, but wasn't there for Jay-Ho O: But it's so fun! We pick up realllllllll fast manz. :d The Sign is alllll footwork. When we first saw the SC doing it we were like ASLKFJALSKDJFLKASJD but after that, it wasn't that bad xD All the hopping and bopping just makes it look really complicated =B Wednesday was crazy :X There was mass dance and debate training. I didn't know which to choose, so I chose the mass dance over debate. Turns out that debate was more important :X Ah. But at least Ms Tan wasn't angry with me or anything XD. Hahaha! In the end we had a whale of a time talking about 1. Singlish 2. English 3. Bad English not being Singlish 4. Bad Singlish 5. Singaporean Identity 6. Debate tacticts 7. Formal English 8. Char Kuay Teow (flat, white noodles fried in dark sauce) 9. Roti Prata (Unlevened thin bread from South Africa, fried in loads of oil) 10. Kampungs (A 'Malay enclosure' in the Oxford Dictionary) 11. Talking Cock (The movie rated NC-17 for Singlish and bad grammar) 12. Hossan Leong - Did I spell him right? O: (Singlishly Singapore) And loads more :D Hahhahaha! The motion was "Singlish is integral to Singaporean identity and should be encouraged in schools." And we got the preposition. TKGS for the opposition. Now, we all knew it was going to be a friendly debate, but just getting the preposition was unfair ): It was a lost cause! So we trained hard, so not to lose that much face later :X And on Saturday was the Great Debate Adventure! O: We went around our stations having fun XD. (Let me digress and talk about the stations first alright!) The first station (for me at least) was Rebuttal Rocks! We had this crazy teacher dressed in an old shirt, with a wig and a straw hat, playing the role of a deranged islander who passed around a rock to those who wish to speak. Me and my partners scored the most points in the rebuttal practice =B Next was Spontaneous Sands, which wasn't really exactly spontaneous, seeing that we all had time to think of what we wanted to say (is about a minute counted as a lot of time? XD). But the hard part was speaking non-stop for thirty seconds about random topics, like Facebook and Being Stuck In A Jungle With Michael Jackson :X Next was Persuation Point, which wasn't fun. Let us not elaborate. Finally was Volcanic Voices! Although we didn't really get to learn how to project voices and stuff in the station since there wasn't enough time O: Then the last station was the DEBATE! Chubin and Enoch were our speakers, and truly, being novice speakers (or debaters in any case), they put up a strong fight. They spoke confidently and persuasively! I like =B TKGS - really sadly to say - didnt put up much of a fight ._. Their rebuttals skirted the issues they raised, and their points were weak and floppy :X (Their points were so bad, that at the end of the first speaker, one of a notebook page was filled with loopholes :X The second speaker did exactly the same mistake as the first :X). And they were TKGS trained debaters D: Maybe they didn't expect us to have such points O: But at the end, me and Nicholas went up to rebutt XD. We were going on and on and on and I think they were looking really quite embarrassed :X When it was my turn, I went up to the mic and was talking and suddenly I saw Mrs Janet Koh! Golly golly gosh. She was in the audience and staring at me like "What in the world is my past student doing here in TJ uniform?!" and I was really plaingly shocked and stuttered the rest of the way :/ But other than that, one of my groupmates for the day came up to me and said that TA did a great debate =B WE ROCK :D Back to mid-week XD Ooooh, digression =D Thursday was the Station Master Trial Run O: The games were okay - well, maybe not okay, if you consider all the stuff we forgot to think about or consider when we were planning it :/ Oh, the life of a G-Comm member / head XD The Trial Run was hectic! During lunch, me and Melina went to print out instruction sheets for the SMs O: So many copies of them! O: 26 copies of three pages O: It looked like homework revisiting us XD. We printed them, ate real quick, rushed back to class, grabbed our stuff and ran out to the sports complex O: Then we got out -coughdirtycough- materials ready =D We only managed to do some of the telematches, Some day two / dirty games, some day three games. Ah. The telematches were more-or-less okay, Day Two games were fun, but some parts were irritating :/. Kope-ed from Camp Invert! :D (GOOD INSPIRATION, GAMES PLANNING TEAM!) One was to make a cup of... of something, with the materials given - for example, two spoons of milo powder, one spoon of tomato sauce, one spoon of mayonnaise... well you get the point - blindfolded =D That was the only fun station XD. Zi Han was the first to go up to the blindfolded member and whisper confusing stuff in his ear XD. HAAHAHAHA so fun. =D But captain's ball, the SMs didn't wanna play with food ): They were protesting against throwing bananas and apples and oranges around ._. It's not fair right XD. All the water forfeits are scrapped, No dirty materials, No water games, No nothing, now no fruits or anything ): Ah well, what to do? Such caring SMs who are so concerned about their TA1s' safety ._. After the whole thing, we gave them a wake up call since everyone wasn't exactly cooperating. I cried in front of everyone and had to be excused :X. I was so angry, and sad at the same time. Hard just to see those station masters under me, who were not appreciative of GComm's hard work and late nights and sweat and blood, shouting back at the President for overly-loud tone. ): But it's over! O: Hahaha! Yay, last activity =D CHURCH OH YES it was BRILLIANT. Somehow I am quite sad I couldn't have gone for both Zone Service and Youth Service ): Heard that Zone Service was great D: I feel like I missed out a lot ): But Youth service, one word: WHOA. It was like God suddenly parted the clouds and the ceiling and was using a hose and spraying us non stop! The air was that thick, and His presence that tangible. The speaker was brilliant too! He was talking about Walking with Jesus, and how to get our relationship straight. And how priveleged we are to be BBFs with the King of Kings and the creator of the universe =D AAAAAH this sounds so stupid, but one point in the serve I felt my head go down, like someone was ruffling my hair XD. It was EXACTLY the way I like someone to do it, just a gentle-enough touch and... oh goodness I just CANNOT describe it (: And the alter-call was just amazing. I believe it was never this rich or this amazing (: When I grow up, I'll be amongst the peoples, walking with God, healing and preaching, leading a huge worship one day =D Just watch me (: WEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee =D Today was tiring too, went out and bought loads of stuff. It wasn't shopping, not really. Just... looking for stuff which I was short of, like T-Shirts XD. Kept wearing the same few over and over again ._. Alright.
